Ingredients
- 125gm maash daal
- 4 tbsp oil
- 2 medium tomatoes
- 1 large onion chopped
- 4 to 5 green chillies
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tbsp cumin seeds
- ½ tsp turmeric
- ½ tbsp red chilli powder
- ½ tsp all spice powder
- 3 strands curry leaves
- 7 to 8 whole red chillies
- Salt as required
- Water as required
Directions
- Soak maash daal in 3 cups of water for 30 minutes.
- Boil it in the same pot until water is evaporated and lentil is done. It should be neither too soft nor too hard.
- Once the maash daal is boiled, set aside.
- In a pot add 2 tbsp oil then add onion, whole red chilli, curry leaves, cumin seeds and fry until onions are golden brown.
- Add ginger garlic paste and all mentioned spices and cook in oil for 1 minute, then add tomatoes and salt and cook well until tomatoes get softened and oil gets separated.
- Add boiled maash daal and mix well and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, then add half cup water and cook until everything is well incorporated.
- Add green chillies and cover with a lid. Cook for 10 mins on low flame and serve hot.
