Chana Daal Halwa

Ingredients

  • 500g chana daal
  • 600ml milk
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 350g Clarified butter
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 4 tbsp mix crushed nuts
 

Directions

  • In a pot soak chana daal in water for an hour.

  • Now transfer the soaked chana daal to a pot and add milk.

  • Keep the flame low and cook until chana daal is fully soft.

  • Transfer the mixture to a food processor, grind well and set aside.

  • In a pot heat ghee and add cardamom powder and sizzle for a few seconds.

  • Now add the lentil milk mixture to it.

  • Add sugar and keep on stirring until the halwa is well incorporated and ghee starts separating from edges.
  • Add nuts and lay out in a serving dish.

  • Cut in diamond shape and allow it to cool down until served.
