Moong Daal Bharta

Ingredients

  • 2 cups moong daal (soak for 30 minutes)
  • ½ tbsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp curry leaves
  • ½ cup oil
 

Directions

  • In a pot soak moong daal for 30 minutes in 2 cups water.

  • In a pot add 2 cups water and boil the moong daal until water is evaporated and daal is tender. Do not over boil the Lentils.

  • In a pan dry roast coriander powder until darkens. Now add chilli powder, turmeric and salt. Keep on roasting fos 20 seconds.

  • Add oil and curry leaves and mix well.

  • Add boiled moong daal and keep on cooking until texture is mushy.

  • Keep on cooking for 15 minutes and once oil starts separating switch off the flame.
